Pre-Employment Programs
Here at Connexions we believe there is more to preparing for employment them writing a deadly resume, which is why we created the Never Say, NEVER ™ Pre-Employment Program (not to be confused with our Never Say Never youth program).
Never Say, NEVER ™ is a career aspiration and pre-employment program that engages and supports working age Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The aim of the Never Say, NEVER ™ pre-employment program is to enhance education, employability, acquisition of labour market skills and knowledge, and participation in society. Participants will be provided with valuable tools that will assist in the development of foundation skills in communication, team work, goal and career planning.
The program places emphasis on life skills, training and work readiness. It also provides a vital stepping stone to engage Indigenous working age, job seekers and youth re-entering and/or entering the educational, training and employment cycle for the first time.
The program has two key focus areas:
Engagement in Career Aspirations and
Transitioning into Vocational Education Training (VET)
The Never Say, NEVER ™ pre-employment program can be delivered either online or face-to-face.
Face To Face Delivery
The Never Say, NEVER ™ pre-employment program runs over six days in duration, with an additional one hour post-program mentoring session. There is no formal written assessments and holds various learning methods. The program works with both individual learning as well as participation in group work/discussions.
At our face-to-face program you are supplied a workbook that is yours to keep. It has every activity inside that you complete during the program as well as pages for you to take notes wherever you feel inclined.
Upon completion of this program we organise a mentoring session with every participant the following week or fortnight to follow-up and check in. The purpose for this mentoring session is purely to see how the participant is travelling after the program and to see if we can assist in any issues that arise, in applying for jobs or to just have a yarn.
Online Delivery
We love this program so much that we have decided to make it accessible at all times. We understand that it is hard for some to make a commitment to a six day program so having this option allows all participants the chance to take part in the program.
For the online version of this program we have broken it down into the eight modules so that you can complete one at a time. Some modules are heavy with information so allowing it to be broken up like this increases your imformation retention as it allows you to focus more on what is at hand.
