Creating Pathways. Connecting Futures.
A proudly Aboriginal-owned organisation creating opportunities in employment, education and enterprise for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our Story

For more than a decade, Connexions has been dedicated to connecting people with purpose — helping job seekers uncover their ideal career pathways and supporting employers to find the right talent to strengthen their businesses. Founded by a team of passionate consultants, recruiters, and career coaches, Connexions was built on a vision to transform the job market with integrity, cultural respect, and opportunity for all.
Our Approach

At Connexions, we believe true success comes from more than simply matching skills to roles. We take a holistic approach that looks deeper — aligning values, culture, work–life balance, and long-term career aspirations. By focusing on the whole person and the bigger picture, we create meaningful connections where both job seekers and employers can thrive
Our Results

Our success is defined by the journeys of those we serve. Over the years, we’ve proudly supported thousands of job seekers in securing meaningful careers and helped employers discover the right people to grow their businesses. Every success story is a testament to the trust we’ve built, the connections we’ve created, and the positive impact we continue to deliver.
Our Services
Personalised Mentoring with Purpose
At Connexions, we believe every journey is unique — and with the right support, every individual has the potential to thrive. Our personalised mentoring programs are designed to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers, young people, and the underemployed to set meaningful goals and gain the skills and knowledge needed to achieve them.
Tailored Support Through Skills Gap Analysis
We begin with a thorough Skills Gap Analysis to understand each participant’s strengths, needs, and aspirations. This process allows us to create tailored support plans that align with their career interests and identify real employment opportunities where their talents can shine.
How Our Mentors Walk Beside You
Our dedicated First Nations mentors are more than career guides — they are trusted supporters who walk alongside participants on their journey. Support may include:
-
Crafting standout resumes and cover letters
-
Assisting with job applications or enrolment in further education
-
Providing help with paperwork, coursework, and forms
-
Connecting participants to essential services such as Aboriginal Medical Services, housing support, and Centrelink
Walking Together Toward Stronger Futures
We take pride in offering culturally safe, strengths-based mentoring that not only equips participants for work but also strengthens confidence, independence, and wellbeing.

Pre-Employment Programs
At Connexions, we know that preparing for employment is about more than writing a resume — it’s about building confidence, developing life skills, and creating clear pathways to opportunity. That’s why we designed the Never Say, NEVER™ Pre-Employment Program (distinct from our Never Say Never youth program).
About the Program
The Never Say, NEVER™ program is created specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth of working age who may be at risk of disengagement. This initiative focuses on career aspirations, education, and employability, while equipping participants with essential labour market skills. Our goal is to empower young people to step into greater participation in society with the tools they need to succeed.
Skills and Outcomes
Through the program, participants gain:
-
Stronger communication and teamwork abilities
-
Practical career planning tools
-
Life skills that support readiness for both training and employment
-
Confidence to navigate pathways into education, work, or further development
This program is a vital stepping stone for Indigenous youth and adults entering or re-entering education, training, and employment.

Mental Health First Aid
At Connexions, we are proud to have a certified instructor on our team delivering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Courses.
About the Course
Spanning 14 hours, this nationally recognised program is open to all adults who want to strengthen their ability to support others. Participants gain practical, culturally grounded skills to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults experiencing mental health challenges or crises — offering vital support until professional help is available or the situation stabilises.
Why It Matters
The MHFA course is built on an evidence-based action plan shaped by Aboriginal mental health experts, many with lived experience of mental health challenges. Research has shown it to be both effective and culturally sensitive, empowering communities with the knowledge and confidence to provide meaningful, appropriate support.
Flexible Delivery
We offer both face-to-face and online delivery, ensuring accessibility for individuals and groups. Large group bookings are also available, making it easier for organisations, workplaces, and community groups to build a stronger, more supportive network of care.
